Ada Ferrer, Author

Ada Ferrer is a historian of Latin America and the Caribbean. Ferrer is a winner of the Pulitzer Prize in History, Professor of History at Princeton University, and a native of West New York and proud graduate of Memorial High School. Her interests lie in the histories of slavery, antislavery, and emancipation, as well as in the comparative and transnational study of revolutions.

“The Ground We Share” is the inaugural exhibition at the brand new West New York Cultural Center, located at 5712 Bergenline Avenue in West New York, NJ. It kicked off as part of a collaboration between the Town of West New York and the non-profit group, WNY Arts.

The exhibit, which was curated by art historian Meyken Barreto, showcased works by twelve talented local artists: Loreto Oreckinto, Osy Milian, Danay Vigoa, Sandra Cordero, Camila Lobón, Claudia Blanco, William Perez, Douglas Arguelles, Jorge Wellesley, Armando Guiller, Pedro Valerino, and Jairo Alfonso.
