Documentary Summary: For Venezuelans, migrating to the United States by land without a visa once seemed unimaginable. That changed when thousands began sharing their journeys through the dangerous Darién Gap — the dense jungle border between South and Central America — on social media. In this documentary, three Venezuelan women reunite in New York and reflect on their experiences, videos, and the harsh realities of crossing one of the most difficult parts of the journey toward the American dream.

Tatiana Rojas Ponce is a Venezuelan researcher, activist, and documentary filmmaker currently pursuing a PhD in Spanish and Portuguese, with a certificate in Culture and Media, at New York University. She has worked on several documentaries as an editor, producer, screenwriter, and post-production coordinator, and has twice won the Best Editing award at the Santiago Álvarez International Documentary Film Festival in Havana, Cuba. Darien is her directorial debut.
